fresh in from central WI

alice

we welcomed the far off travelers from little chute (also commonly referred to as poop chute and the LC), WI this weekend. The Kontny's made the trip over since we hadn't seen alice in so long and our house is just more conducive to visitors, i think. so, we here at rice-n-grass would like send out a hearty thank you for youze guys coming to us.

anyway, alice was running the show most of the weekend. this didn't surprise anyone. she loved the dogs and spent a ton of time chasing them around, rolling in the grass with them and cuddling in the house. sleepy pals

lbm and josh will be happy to note though that we also put marty and tone to work. we were able to dig up and split 3 monster hosta plants into 9 or 10 more manageably sized plants. that was not fun. i spent the better part of the time in the yard balancing on a shovel. luckily i didn't fall off too many times. leeser and tone also did the mulching while marta and i were the diggers. it turned out nice, now we are just hoping and praying the hostas will be able to come back after all the trauma.

we also cooked up an amazing meal. some of the best fish i have ever tasted. we bought some fresh haddock, then marty made up little packets with fresh dill, lemons and lettuce. tossed them on the grill and what came out was so delicious and healthy. no butter or fat or salt, just delicous. yummy. i made a big salad and we had rhubarb custard cake for dessert.

sunday brought more gorgeous weather, church outdoors, breakfast at cheap charlies and bra shopping for me. i will save an entire blog for the bra shopping experience, i'm sure everyone will love that.

thanks for the visit, kontny's. it was lots of fun!

I do have to say I am happy to hear that you put more visitors to work at your house! It really sounds like the yard is coming together. Perhaps you could get another visitor or 2 to help you finish it off??? :-P Har har! Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Cute pics of Ali too! Talk to you soon!
