check out this view. we went to the amateur water ski show on lake zumbro last night with brad and jen-jen. it didn't go exactly according to plan. we ran into a tad bit of trouble with a dead battery on the boat, then a starter spring that was stuck. so we went for a short ride in the boat to the show, brad dropped us at the dock to go get a table at the restaurant overlooking the show and the lake. there were plenty of tables as we arrived an hour early. unfortunately folks had reserved the whole deck for the night. so there we were stranded with no chairs, no food, no car, no boat, no brad and shoddy (at best) cell phone service. anyway, turns out brad's boat broke down and he had to row home, we got crappy concession stand food and found some chairs to sit on.

the show ended up being amateur (as we knew going in), but it was still fun to watch. the night was so beautiful, that it didn't matter how wrong things had gone up until then. once the show was over (which lasted an hour longer than normal), brad had arranged for his neighbor to pick us up in the pontoon to take us home. the guy was a big boy from texas, but he has been here for years, so his drawl was only slightly distinguishable. but, in typical texas style he had one of the biggest purdiest boats out on the lake. the lake was gorgeous and quiet, no one was out there, seemed like it was our own private sunset.
anyway, it was an enjoyable experience.
