i talked leeser and mumsie into letting me go in and visit the australian red cross blood donation center in downtown brisbane. luckily a friend or ours (will's dad, drew) donate regularly, so he hooked me up with a tour. it was cool to see how another big donor center works. this is the largest donor center in queensland. they tried to talk me into donating, but i think i'll keep my blood until i get back to the states. ha ha. a special thank you to mumsie and leeser for sitting in the reception area for a whole hour while i toured and chatted.
the trip to the city was also successful because we were able to find an old fashioned bushman's hat. poppy was happy to model it for me. i guess in the old days (who knows when that was) the fellas in the outback would wear these hats to keep the flys from bothering them. i was bound and determined to find one for jeffy, he is a crazy man and i think this hat will fit nicely into his wardrobe. ha ha.
so, i think we have crammed in all the shopping, visiting, doing and seeing we could into 3 weeks. we'll have a big dinner tonight with anna and davO, then we fly out tomorrow, have a crappy overnight layover in sydney, then we arrive in new zealand for another week of adventure before heading back to minnesota.
