we arrived in the afternoon and took a lovely tour of downtown area, some of the new housing developments and the beach. we happened to stroll past as this kid who couldn't have been more than 14 or 15 years old was launching his kite. it was just before the sun started creeping down toward the water, i was able to snap this shot of him. looked like a lot of fun.
on our walking tour, we also had a wander out to the Noosa spit. i guess a spit is a bit of beach or a piece of land that didn't previously exist, but a cyclone rolls through and drops a load of sand and it stays. i was happy to get this lovely snap of my unsuspecting wife while she was having a look over the ocean on the Noosa spit.
then today, we woke up and had breakfast and headed out on the noosa river for a tour and a picnic. uncle john rented a little covered boat and took us for a two hour tour over lunchtime. it was amazing to see the home right on the banks of the river, some of them were no bigger than our house and uncle john said they might sell for something like $1.5 million. crazy. we found a nice spot, dropped the anchor and had some sandwiches and cocktails. here i am with uncle john and meggie after we had finished eating we lounged a bit and enjoyed the drinks, company and scenery. (please note my bottle of VB, yes i was drinking beer at noon again!) it was a great day, too bad it was so short.
