gay news

although i should be worrying about academy award nominations and the groundhog's shadow, i found myself shaking my head at the pope. a papal visit to england hasn't occurred since 1982; almost the span of my life. so, as the UK nears passing it's equality bill, he plans to become a personal cheerleader against it. nice. he is worried about his right to deny gay people holding higher positions in the church. does anyone else find this to be a teeny tiny bit hypocritical? i'll stop there as a rant would become angry and lengthly.

soon after reading about the pope, i heard a story on mpr about the military moving toward changing or eliminating the 'don't ask, don't tell' military policy. so, that is a move in a positive direction.

maybe these two efforts actually cancel each other out in the grand scheme of things. bringing to light the fact that gay people are just people. we don't care who you are sleeping with, why is it so entertaining who we are sleeping with? get a life folks.
