last weekend

lookie here, i wasted another week. work has been kicking my butt though. i don't even really have time for personal emails much anymore....the horror! oh well.

so, the much anticipated mat kearney concert at first ave was last saturday. i went with a good friend. we decided to book a hotel and enjoy our time up there instead of having to drive all the way back to roch after the concert.

mat was great. he sounded excellent and the energy from the crowd was good. i have to admit i was disappointed by his stage presence. he didn't have much to say and i always love the banter that great artists have with the crowd. i want to be drawn in and learn new things or laugh. oh well. still a great concert.

i think the highlight of the weekend was the swanky hotel though. neither of us often spends the money on this kind of thing so it was a treat. valet parking, room service, mini bar, bellmen.... the whole nine. and it was great fun. we drank in the room, went to the concert and ate at the fancy tapas-style restaurant after the concert. walleye tacos, grilled asparagus with goat cheese, edemame, sweet chili shrimp and amazing cocktails. even ordered some room service cheese cake and stuff at 3am. ha ha ha.
