HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY, RUBY!!!

hi honey, you made it a whole year! we are so proud of you! i wish i could tell you it's all downhill from here, but you have so many things to look forward to and so much more to learn.

in celebration of the first anniversary of your birth, i thought i would run down some of your most noteworthy accomplishments over the last year. you never cease to amaze your mommy and i. we love watching you discover new things and take in the world. we are looking forward to seeing what you will do over the next year. we love you so much!!

12/10/07: at 7:13pm, you were born!
12/12/07: you came to live with us at our house on 14th street.
12/07-3/08: your mommy was home from work with you. she took good care of you and spent all of her time with you. your grandparents helped too.
3/08-4/08: i decided to stay home from work for one more month so you wouldn't have to go to daycare just yet. this made it easier for your mommy to go back to work. we had lots of fun too.
4/30/08: you think it's fun to put your feet in your mouth.
5/4/08: you have found your voice: yelling, babbeling, singing.
5/21/08: you reached both arms up over your head to be picked up.
5/22/08: today you came to watch mommy play softball.
5/25/08: you cut your first tooth, lower left. you didn't fuss at all.
6/3/08: you rolled from your back to your tummy today at jaclyn's. nobody even got to see it.
6/7/08: we took you swimming today. you didn't really like it. the indoor waterpark was too noisy and it was your naptime. you slept with grandpa instead.
6/9/08: you did your first barrel roll.
6/17/08: you took your first tumble down the stairs. luckily you didn't get hurt at all.
6/28/08: i sat you up to play with a toy and you stayed sitting for a little while all by yourself.
7/6/08: you had real food today- sweet potato and rice cereal. you loved it.
7/22/08: you had fruit today, banana and cereal. you also did your first army crawls today.
8/6/08: we went on our first dinner date as a family to sushi itto. you were a good girl, except for spilling an entire pot of soy sauce with your grabby little hands.
8/13/08: you started waiving today. you waive bye-bye to mommy when she leaves for work from jaclyn's.
8/30/08: you pulled yourself up to a standing postion today.
9/5/08: your first airplane ride today. we went to england to visit your godmommies. you didn't sleep at all, but you were a good girl.
9/9/08: today is my birthday. you did a few new things today. you fell and got your first goose egg. you also cut your first top tooth.
9/12/08: you had fish today. auntie clare cooked it for you and you loved it.
10/15/08: you know how to make a kiss noise now.
11/1/08: you learned how to shake your head 'no' but you don't know what it means. you are also dancing like crazy. you love music.
11/26/08: you got your first ear infection today. i had to rush you to the clinic because it's the day before a holiday. you are on antibiotics.
11/27/08: today is your first thanksgiving holiday. we went to the marshall's for dinner. you had: sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, sweet potato pie, veggies and corn bread. delicious!
12/6/08: today was your very first birthday party. you got lots of great pressies and loved eating cake!!! (see photo above).
12/8/08: today we signed you up for a new daycare. you will be going to tracy's house now. auntie jaclyn is pregnant and can't watch you anymore. that's ok though, we think you will like tracy. you picked her out all by yourself, you went right over to her and sat on her lap and smiled and chatted.
12/10/07: today is your real bday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HONEY! we hope to take you to play at an indoor tiny tot place today and you will get to have some more of your beloved cake that grandma made for you.

we can't wait to see what the next year brings. hope you have a good birthday!!
