a fun thursday

we did it, we did it. we planned to go out and we actually made it. it didn't rain, no disasters or crazy mishaps that prevented us from having a nice night out.

it was our first date out, just the three of us. we scooped the loop at the festival downtown and discovered we need to get to the restaurants right in the plaza much sooner than 6:30 if we want to be seated before closing time. so, we opted to walk a few blocks away and have sushi. i was very excited because we all know that i love sushi.

we went in and got a table right away. sat down and ruby was scrambling around on the table trying to grab everything in sight. i moved everything back out of her reach. or so i thought. before i could even see what was going on, she grabbed the entire jug (and i say jug because it was a large container) of soy sauce and spilled it all over the middle of our table, on herself and me and the floor. luckily the waitstaff helped clean while lisa and i created a dam with the napkins. what a stinker. we laughed about it all night and she is still smelling like a little sushi roll today. (we'll have to bath tonight).

anyway, other than that. she behaved pretty well. she even sat in a highchair at the table for the first time. she spent time throwing her container of sweet potato star puffs around, drinking from her sippy cup and smacking the table. she gave us enough time to eat too much sushi and that was about it. we got out of there.

then down to the peace plaza again to hook up with some pals and enjoy the nice weather. we listened to the band which wasn't too bad. but really it was just the atmosphere of a nice night out in a great little plaza that was just redone this year. it has a new fountain, new fixtures. once softball is done, hopefully we can make that a weekly event.

anyway, i took some video, but it isn't all that interesting. so i just did some still snaps instead. i especially love this shot of L. she was giving a great peace sign in the middle of the newly renovated peace plaza. how fitting. ha ha ha.
