yup, we are having a baby. we are happy, proud, nervous, amazed to announce that we will be welcoming the newest member of our family into this world around december 10th. as leeser transitions into the 2nd trimester, i figured it's about time i put up baby's first post.
so, i know it's a bit of a curious situation with two lesbians getting pregnant. a lot of people have a lot of questions, and mostly it isn't anyone's business, but I thought i would share just a little bit of information about how this all happened.
first of all there weren't any sperm banks or hospitals or fertility clinics or doctors involved at all. we are both lucky enough and blessed to have a very good friend who was happy to donate some of his swimmers to help us have a baby. he and his partner are two of our greatest supporters and we will never be able to fully express the appreciation and gratitude we have for this great gift.
anyway, the second try surprised us all. we found out the day before we left for our big trip to australia. so, lisa was happy to share the big news with her family in person, even though it was so early on.
so, now we are just taking things day by day and starting to prepare for the new life that will become our new responsibility and focus in this life. i can't even begin to understand what is about to happen in 6 short months. aside from all the worry and concerns i am looking forward to a lifetime of love and growing and learning. what an amazing blessing.
i'm sure soon enough this blog will evolve into an extensive report on little baby mako, but i guess that's how things go when life changes in such a big way. ok, that's about all i have for now. just wanted to share the news with the readers who might check in to keep tabs on me, but i don't necessarily see or talk to.
hope everyone is having a great wednesday.
