so, hopefully i can get some feedback on this post. it has kinda creeped to the surface after a really close friend of ours was diagnosed with testicular cancer a few weeks ago. leeser and i had a conversation about the people who are really, really important in our lives and how we need to make a seriously concerted effort to see them and contact them and be a part of their lives above and beyond all the busy stuff in life that gets in the way.
from those thoughts i revisited an old list of favorites i had. as you'll see from this post, i like to refer to it as my favorite people in the world or favorite people on the planet list. does anyone else have a list like this? i think it's a good list to have; these are the people i would want to know i had been in a car crash, the people who know everything important in my life, the people who i want to drink beers with, the people who make my life taste better, ya know? i even think most of them have seen me in pajamas or with bedhead...these are important people!
family, you'll also notice you are not on this list. family is a completely different thing, no one needs a list for family. one might ask why then, i need a list of friends? really, i don't. but i just make it a point to call these people or email them and i know their birthdays, stuff like that.
anyway, after much thought and deliberation, i'm going to publish the list. if you think you should be on the list and aren't, i want to hear about it. this list is freshly modified to reflect the death of a friend and the addition of someone i wish i would have met a long, long time ago. anyway, aside from that one change this list has been steady for some 5 years, i think.

I am honored to have made the list. Something other than a shit list is quite a feat in itself. Isn't great to meet a new friend? The getting to know one another is so exciting, each wanting to share so much with the other person. It feels like when your in second grade and you meet a new friend on the playground...every day...you just can't wait for recess!

no one said you weren't also on a shit list. it is fun though, i guess i thought the fun new friend thing stopped once you get to a certain age though (some of us are farther down that track than others).
I am hoping that is me on that list!! I do not think you have any other Stacey's but I am a horrible friend so I really don't know...thank you for including me if it is even though I suck! Love ya!
