so, here she is, the new baby!
i have been a canon girl all my life. the first camera my dad let me use was an slr he bought while he was in vietnam. it was a canon pelix. from there i saved up my money in college and bought a canon rebel. it still used film!!! i learned how to shoot photographs using film. such a lost art, and so romantic developing one's own photos. i spent quite a few years doing it, but now i am a converted woman. i am fully digital.
so several years back i bought the canon rebel eos 300D dSLR. i immediately fell in love with it and it served me well. i never had a problem with it and have been nearly 100% happy with the pictures it has produced. but, in a world of bigger and better i have been lured toward the tantilizing mega pixels that the newer dSLRs have to offer.
i made a bittersweet sale of my canon to a beginner photographer; i am confident she will be so happy with it. but, i was sad to let a favorite piece of equipment go. on the other hand, this opened the door to look at a new camera, new brand and an upgrade. i made a tough decision to go with a different brand, but i think this cameras value will be pretty high for a long time. it's kinda like buying a chevy versus a honda. you can always get some money out of a honda.
