long weekend, short vacation

although there were a lot (and i mean A LOT) of snafus just hours before this weekend was supposed to happen it finally did. there was some sweat and almost some tears, but definately no blood. we ended up kenneling the pooches at a place called "the animal house", this was NOT planned ahead of time. but after visiting and trusting the recommendations of some good dog-loving people we left the babies to a weekend of horse-play, running rank, and chilling in their own doggie lounge complete with a television and two couches. i don't think they had it too rough.

so, this kenneling business turned out to be a blessing in disguise. because, although we love the little four-leggers and usually bring them along, it was really nice to sit around and drink beers and chat without any excess fur involved. so we caught up with a pal and her fiance both of whom i haven't seen in quite a long while. we also ate tons and tons of food. everything from chinese to bar food to breakfast.... all delicious, all naughty, all vacation food.

we also did a little shopping, organized the wedding invitations (this was not as simple as those four words made it sound, but it's done and they are ready to be printed), put to bed a rumor about the 'love sac' (more on that later), and i found a hat that is so at home on my head that it might want to live there.

i guess that's about it. there are some guys trying to fire up a wood chipper big enough to fit an elephant inside (not that i would advocate something like that, but with all these stupid horror films coming out lately, i'm sure you'll see it), so it's making a lot of noise and annoying me. catch you all later!
