the last five days

thursday i quit my softball team in rochester here. actually, leeser did it for me. she cited my recent knee incidents and said that she insisted that i take it easy. this is all true, but i'm still going to go play in lacrosse. the actual reason (despite my knee) is that they are all a bunch of old beer drinkers that can't play but think they can. not to mention they spend a lot of time drinking and arguing, and even less time playing. i don't need it.

friday some friends bailed for dinner. so we were able to offer some spur-of-the-moment help to my most recent trainee. we helped her move into the smallest condo i've ever seen. but, it's just her and she's a very small girl and she doesn't like 'stuff' so it should suit her fine. she's also a girl after my own heart who prefers not to drive anywhere. so, she got this place that is connected by skyway to work. or if she goes outside i think it's two blocks. pretty sweet deal. after which she treated us to pizza and cheese bread at our favorite joint. also, she had her first deep-fried cheese curds. she says she liked them. this girl is 23 and from iowa. so, sometimes i scratch my head at the things she hasn't tried or doesn't get. besides the cheese curd incident, she learned another fact via me (i'm such a great teacher) guess what is was??? people who have the given name "james" often get called "jim" as a nickname. i know, she's crazy. i'll report more the more i get to know her. she is really funny though and a great worker. so that is good. generally i like her.

saturday and sunday were both shot as lisa and i worked all day.

monday we had the day off together. since we woke up to snow on the ground (thrilling!), we bundled up to run the dogs at the park. we had to since they had to go to the vet. we never want to take them in to that place on full energy load. but all went well, everyone is healthy, so i paid my $210 and got out of there. the rest of the day consisted of errands to the post office and other stores, etc. it was ok.

tuesday i'm home. i have today off too. and i'm freaking out about my first softball game tonight. i just hope that my knee is ok. on top of that it is cold outside AND the game is at 9pm.... this does not make me a happy camper. wish me luck!
