L word disappointment

this post if for all the lesbian readers (i think that somewhat limits an already small audience)... oh well.

dear l word producers/writers:

what in the hell is going on with the l word this season? it really sucks. granted real life doesn't include all kinds of sex and dating and hooking up and make-out sessions all the time....but remember last season? it seemed so much more steamy. and now we are looking at naked pregnant women more than the hotties. don't get me wrong, i appreciate the weird gap that you guys are trying to bridge about preggie chicks being sexual too, but really is this the place? c'mon prime-time-soap-opera-smut is what we are paying for, isn't it? serously, if we were worried about true-to-life lesbos, we wouldn't even turn the show on, cuz the only place you see them is as extras.

and this sub-plot business with mark is so stale. if i wanted to look at a melrose place look-a-like i'd watch the tbs reruns, and if i wanted to hear the kind of "shallow teach me something about being a dyke i really am interested" dialog that only mark's character is capable of, i'd talk to any one of my male co-workers. give me a break. speaking of mark, how can jenny get any weirder?

another tired undercurrent is the crap with melvin, bette's father. all it is doing is bring me down!

bring back the tranny love interests
bring back the one-nighters with shane (not that i advocate this behavior)
bring back the impromptu skinny-dipping in the pool (sans pregnant women)
bring back that hottie carpenter that lured bette away from tina
bring back more sweaty dance clubs
bring back carmen meeting jenny at the fridge in her underpants

sincerely,
a very disappointed and skeptical second season viewer

word. I couldn't agree more. Bring back any and all scenes that involve Bette throwing someone against a wall or turning them around. And just for laughs I would also like to see Melanie and Lindsay pop in for a visit (I mean come on, Lindsay and Bette are both conveniently in the arts)

I have to agree with you as well Amy...Jenny just needs to go. Her little dramas and stories..so pointless and distruptive...and I'm sorry -but do people really where clothes that look as bad as Jenny's??? One thing though - at least Alice isn't quite so whiney as she was last year, they do however need to bring back Marina!!

Mark...Amy you asked me about him last night...they need 1 token straight guy to ask the questions that all straight guys wanna know...supposedly he's 'grown' (rolling my eyes) from the experience of taping everything in the household...beside the episode he 'saved' Shane, there is less of a need for him to be on the show than even Jenny.

I'm quite disappointed in this season...someone asked me how the season could be almost over already...nothing's happened so far. I'm much more disappointed if I missed Lost right now than if I missed the L-Word. And those are the only 2 shows I watch. Hopefully Queer as Folks' last season will be good...otherwise - I agree with you - why am I paying money for cable??
