had the pleasure of seeing ani difranco last tuesday evening right here in rochester. i'm always amazed when great music shows up here. i saw ani live several years ago in minneapolis. it was a great show. she is excellent live. if you ever have the chance to see her, be sure to do it.
probably more exciting was the opening artist. he was not listed on the ticket and until they announced him, i thought it was just ani. luckily, she has such great taste. i have a new favorite. for the last 3 weeks or so, i have been constantly listening to mat kearney's new album. so far hands down my pick for favorite album of 2009. now, gregory alan isakov has pitted an arguement against good ole mat. both great lyricists. both great indie-folk. check him out, you won't be sorry. here is one of my favorite songs:
had a great weekend hanging with ruby, even though we are both sick. my head feels jammed full of sweat socks again. but, hoping to turn the corner tomorrow. ok, i'm at work making up time. better get a few more things done before i shove off for the day.
