tired immune system

so, instead of having a quiet weekend so i could nurse this cold ruby shared, i kept busy and didn't miss any fun. friday we enjoyed the lynx game. alli loved going out to center court and she was given an autographed basketball as souvenir. anyone who knows that kid knows how much of an autograph freak she is. the lynx also spanked the monarchs, so that was fun.

upon returning to town at about 11pm, got about 5 drunk calls from a friend. so, went downtown to pick her up and give her a ride to her friend's place. dear H, don't start drinking at 6pm...and just for the record, i mentioned this before you started drinking at 6pm. ha ha. anyway, it certainly is entertaining to walk into a bar sober at about 11:30pm. i'll just leave it at that.

saturday i was feeling a little hung over even though i didn't drink. i suppose just over-tired and too much stinky smoke/bar smell. i layed around and did a whole lot of nuthin' before heading to lacrosse to hang at em's shop for a while. i emailed to tell her i was sick and tried to get her to let me off the hook. she wasn't having it. glad i went though. we had some great beer (my new fav hands-down: breckenridge 471 small batch), grilled, chatted and watched a movie. when i say 'watched' a movie it means that emily watched and i slept on the couch. i think it was the robitussin i was swigging down for my cough. anyway, it was a lovely evening. thanks for being such a great host, ms. vance.

sunday was my day with ruby. i was glad the weather was so nice. we went to the park and basically spend the whole day outside. the only time we spent inside was naptime. i used that time to watch a dexter episode and hang some laundry out to dry. the only bad part of the day came when i had to drop ruby off at lisa's and head in to work. oh well, these things happen. i was able to get so much done in the quiet, dark office that it was worth it.

speaking of work, better get some done. off to a meeting in 20 min. hope everyone had a great weekend.
