regarding the issue, i found this quote on the decision so poignant:
"We are firmly convinced the exclusion of gay and lesbian people from the institution of civil marriage does not substantially further any important governmental objective," the Supreme Court wrote in its decision. "The Legislature has excluded a historically disfavored class of persons from a supremely important civil institution without a constitutionally sufficient justification."
anyway, it will be exciting to watch this unfold and i will remain hopeful that nothing like prop8 happens here.
also, i am growing more and more dismal about the prospects of the race this weekend. seems like i will be running in the snow. hopefully i'll still have my sister to keep me company. extenuating circumstances might not let her come either and all of my work friends that goaded me into signing up have already chicken out. boo on them.
keep your fingers crossed for me as i make my way on this route sunday around 1pm:

i will be so pleased when it's all over!! have to remember who i'm running for anyway.

Way to go Iowa. That is wonderful news. Good luck to Painty - and i say if it is snowing - no one will ask for their money back if you don't run.
good luck painty!! i'd say "break a leg" but #1 - you're not in a play and #2 - with your ankles, knees and bird legs, it would just be asking for trubble.
all the Kontnys are pulling for ya.
xoox
p.s. good luck to lbl too!
I'll be there...we can do it! If it's snowing...I guess we just won't overheat!!! Plus we'll have an excuse if our time sucks! HAHAHAHA!!! It'll be an adventure right? I sure hope there will be a photo finish???
