if you must, then choose ROO!

this one is for my wifey and the other aussie readers. i'm not saying we should find ways to foster this world's heavy reliance on meat-eating, but any push to get away from beef is a great idea in my book.

i remember how while shopping in Oz we could walk over to the meat counter and pick up a pound of kangaroo in the same way you would grab ground pork or chuck here in the states. it seemed so odd. anyway, it turns out that roos emit negligible amounts of methane into the atmosphere. here's a great diagram (click to enlarge). if you are interested, the whole article is excellent and can be found right here.

It's really lean and juicy - a bit like venison. You gotta eat it pretty rare but I like it, even though it is one of our national animals.

not sure I can do it! I would rather just not eat red meat at all. They look cute.
