lame

i know i have been mostly absent this week, ok all week. but, it's been busy at work. i had a big install with the company for a machine i've been working on implementing for nearly a year. no, it's still not done, but implementation day is always a big one. especially when the install tech arrive at 7am and we open boxes only to find out the wrong equipment was shipped and no software. anyway, we got through it. no worries.

been busy at home this week trying to get ready for ruby's birthday party this weekend too. mom and dad arrived really late last night and are at home playing with ruby today. i'm sure they are all having a lovely time. so, tonight there is still soem cleaning that needs to be done and a trip to the grocery store for a few last minute items we didn't want to buy and have sitting in the fridge rotting. i promise i'll post lots of photos of the weekend and perhaps a video. we are keeping fingers crossed for good weather as some family still haven't arrived.

all the complaining i do about work, i guess i should just be happy to have a job. dunno if any of you keep tabs on formula1, but the british-based honda f1 team just had the plug pulled this wednesday. that's where nic works. so her and 699 of her fellow colleagues will be out of a job in 90 days unless a buyer steps up. i am not holding my breath. so she isn't having the happiest of weeks. we keep offering to hire her as a live in nanny, but so far she isn't biting.

speaking of nanny, we have decided on a new daycare provider. she is a mom who has been doing daycare for the last 20 years. we went on several interviews and home visits. it was an interesting (and stressful) experience to say the least. i'll have to do a seperate blog to share some of the stories. but for now, we are happy to report that ruby will going to daycare after the first of the year at tracy's house. we were so lucky to have jaclyn to watch ruby while she was so tiny and we wanted her to have so much attention.

ok, that's the update for now. hope everyone has a nice weekend. shout out to my dad who turned 60 on wednesday. don't worry, he's such an old fart, he can barely read. he he he. happy bday, dad. sorry ruby is going to steal your thunder this weekend.
