i was planning to do a post about the weekend. we surprised marty for her 30 bday. she turned 30 back in july, but it just didn't work to have a party then. so, we disappointed her and didn't have one. but then, surprise, we visited her this weekend. oh what fun!
we went to a hotel with a little waterpark and took the little ones swimming. unfortunately, marty doesn't like to swim, so that wasn't the best choice for her party. oh well, we had to have something to do fun.
anyway, this morning i received a link to the following little gem:

i guess it's a sad thing, really. budget cuts and the reason that marty was on the news isn't very much fun. but still, she's famous. you can read the story, but even more fun is clicking on the video link right next to the writer's name. i couldn't get it to embed in the blog, sorry about that.
good job, marty for being involved in your local government. i won't comment on how bush's excellent strategy over the past 8 years helped create an environment where local and national budgets have come out in the black leaving extra cash to invest in aid programs that nurture our communities. (please note snarky, cutting sarcasm)

Ruby enjoyed watching the video this morning while she was eating her vegemite toast. she actually waved at the screen - it was very cute. good job colonel sanders.
THE colonel marty will be signing autographs on Wednesday, November 5 from 3:41 p.m. - 4:08 p.m. 8 x 10 glossies will be available for purchase as well as various other items such as bumper stickers and commemorative plaques. One lucky fan will get to have their picture taken with THE colonel.
