i am honestly about to pass out from exhaustion, but i just had to do a quick blog about some exciting news i heard today. lance armstrong is going to ride the 2009 tour de france. i am so excited.
he is one of my favorite sports figures. i can't explain why. he's an a-hole generally, arrogant and full of himself. but he's also an amazing human being. i think i am so drawn to him because he gives me hope and a certain degree of belief in the strength of the mind overcoming the body. his story is an amazing one and i have always pulled for him in life, in his cycling career, in his new hollywood-ish lifestyle.
i love when someone can prove doubters wrong, the folks who say someone can't do something just because they are too lazy to believe in the magic of believing. anyway, i hope you win an 8th, lance. even though you were quoted as saying it wouldn't mean much. i think it would mean everyone can go suck it. you'll be almost 38 years old when you ride, racing the hardest bike race in existence against men half your age. not good odds, and that's exactly the kind of odds i like for you.
