the kontny family just had a week off and here are some highlights:
1. we took grandma and grandpa to the state fair. here's a shot of some WILD
animals we saw there. we of course consumed WAY too much food and Ali was a big fan of the corn (poor grandma had to share hers) and the cream puffs (after the initial bite where it got up her nose.) unfortunately, she wouldn't let us get a photie of it. oh well.
2. we went to the milwaukee zoo for about half a day. Ali's favorites were the "uh-ming-oes" and other birds. the fish were a close second i'd say. tone had fun getting to touch a stingray and we now have almost every animal from a-z on our camera...sometimes he gets a little picture happy....
3. tony and i celebrated our 7 year anniversary. time flies when you're making mortgage payments and raising a toddler! grandma and grandpa were nice enough to watch Ali so we could go out for a special dinner and drinks afterwards. it was good.
4. speaking of toddlers...we had a minor medical emergency and i had to fish a screw out of Ali's left nostril. that's right, campers....a screw. after which Ali rewarded me with a very sweet, yet teary, "thank you, mama". awwww.
5. for the rest of the time we mostly hung out at home and i did a billion loads of laundry and hung them out on the line to dry (just trying to be greener...painty would approve) and took ali swimming. all in all, a wonderful week and it sure sucks to be back at work. when's someone going to win the lotto anyways and set me up for life? sheesh.
sorry this wasn't particularily funny, but i can't be brilliant all the time!

oh marty, did you save the screw for alice's baby book? i know it's not funny, but i can't stop laughing. he he he. thanks for the guest blog.
i contemplated saving it, but it was kind of all snotty and boogery. i guess i should have taken a picture. oh well.
maybe she will think twice about shoving things up her nose in future. i will think it is funny until Ruby does the same thing.
i had a friend at school called Peanut, who did the same as ali with.... a peanut, please don't name Ali screw - I know what you girls are like for nicknames ;o)
