my first korean guest blog

courtesy of my buddy, jen-jen johns. i'll let her tell it, i don't want to take anything away from this little intervention!!! ha ha ha.

i am getting newly acquainted with living at the lake and making it to and from rochester for various activities. on thursday i needed to go to our softball game and for probably the first time, i was actually ahead of schedule, so i decided to stop at mcdonald's for a quick bite before the game. as i was ordering (burger'n'fries in case you were wonderin) i noticed this family. dad, mom, adult son. they looked sorta like backwoods people venturing out from their little shack for the one yearly trip to the big city. you know the kind i mean. and to add to it, the son was obviously mentally challenged and the parents both looked like they may have had some chromosomal things going on. anyway, i get my food and sit down in a
little corner by myself. take that first bite of greasy burger and guess who sits down right next to me, even though there is hardly anyone else there. sweet. so i might as well make the best of the situation and tune into their conversation. my mistake. the dad was giving advice to the son about writing his resume and it played out like this.

dad: "you need to put, yes i got fired from my last job, but it's because i had.."
me: take bite of burger
dad: "a rash in the crotch area.."
me: choke on bite of burger
dad: "and i know it's inappropriate to scratch it in public.."
me: choke some more
dad: "especially when i work with children.."
me: take drink of pop to ease choking
dad: "i have since received treatment for my problem.."
mom: "MEDICAL! you should put medical treatment!"
dad: "ok, ok. i had medical treatment to take care of my crotchal rash.."
me: inhale drink of pop up my nose

i don't know how many of you have had a carbonated bevarage go into your nasal cavity and actually go all the way through and come out your nose, but it hurts like an SOB! i think there may have been a piece of bun or something along for the ride too. so that is probably my last trip to mcdonald's ever again. maybe god was trying to tell me to stay away from fatty, artery-clogging food.

jen-jen---I hope you did not let them help you..read touch you... while you were bringing your beverage and burger thru your nose.
Great story..remind me never to go out to eat with you...I don't know if I care for the kind of people you attract!

maybe the moral of the story is that it's ok to be late. being ahead of schedule (or on time) is over-rated. oh my.
