we were both so pleased to see the turn-out this year. lots more people, and there were even food vendors. i think the first year i went there was a blanket with a group of people (all of which were people i already knew) and a stand selling nachos. it was sad, but the growth shows promise. anyway, i could go on about it, but i'll just post a few photos of ruby on her first gay pride day. she had a good time looking around and keeping an eye on everything. she even went up to the stage with her mommies for a blessing of couples from the rev. dr. nancy horvath-zurn. who knows ruby's photo might even appear in a nationl GLBT magazine...we'll see.
we also went to owatonna to visit my old softball team. they were playing in a tournament. none of the girls had met ruby yet, so she made the rounds there being passed and oogled over. i enjoyed several beers and the sunshine. i was so happy to be watching and not playing (i'm getting old).
sunday was a long awaited visit up to the cities to see carihard and finally meet little baby oliver. i affectionately like to call him small paul, since he is the spitting image of his dad, paul. seriously, the only thing he's missing is the facial hair. he is a sweet little boy and it was nice to remember how far we've come with ruby and how much she has developed. also a little sad. oliver didn't make too much noise and even let me cuddle him till he fell asleep. he has the best round head and i gave him lots of kisses. ruby kept a good eye on him as well. here's a picture of the two of them hanging out on the couch. in a few months i suppose they'll be playing and raising all kinds of havoc.
p.s. you'll notice that oliver is 5 months ruby's junior and nearly her size. he's a big boy.anyway, cari and pauly put on a nice little BBQ and we were happy to sit around and enjoy the nice weather with them too. they have a great deck and a nice big shade umbrella for all of us with kids we don't want to fry up. it was so nice to see them. everyone is looking great and getting along swimmingly.
well that's about it for the weekend update. i'm sure leeser will comment if i forgot something important. happy monday again!

yay for meeting Oliver and seeing Cari and Pauly. I can't believe it took us 10 weeks. I wish every day was the weekend.
so glad the day finally came. we have to make a point of seeing eachother more often, we're only 1.5 hours away for the love of God...it really felt too long and I don't ever want to lose our connection. love you guys. sorry paul got so silly - he loves a day off, buds, beers and a BBQ.
