fighting entropy one tshirt at a time

i don't know that i have to say much, maybe just posting these photos. it has become abundantly clear to me in my 31 years on this earth that i do not have the physical strength or mental soundness to single-handedly fight the universe in order to keep my closet neat and tidy. i threw in the towel some months back and this weekend with my wife's help and strong encouragement i went through all of my clothes. not that i would ever wish my house would burn down, but i have often wished i could get myself into the state-of-mind where a fire had just ravished everything and i am starting fresh. i sometimes think it would be an amazing sense of freedom having 1 or 2 pairs of jeans, a few hoodies and tshirts and that's about it. now that i have been wearing scrubs to work, i have been able to substantially cut down on wardrobe. anyway, here i go rambling. plus my tshirt addiction is something that needs therapy or medical intervention of some kind, be that as it may (what does that phrase mean anyway?) here is what happened on the better part of my sunday afternoon:

p.s. here is all the stuff i'm sending off to good will. the pile is actually higher than my waist, the angle isn't good here. it ended up being 4 garbage bags full. i hope a little underprivileged lesbo with my same taste runs into this stash. ha ha ha.

Wow! That is some impressive work! I'm sure you enjoyed every moment of it. Doesn't it feel good to get stuff sorted through and cleaned up? I just wish it would stay that way all on it's own. We've been doing really well with our closet (and things in general) in the new place. It's so much nicer than the old place and we'd like to keep it that way. Good luck keeping yours in order!

way to go Pastey! it's a very empowering feeling isn't it? I've done some major wardrobe editing myself and it's very rewarding.
