little lefty?

Well i know this could be an early diagnosis of ruby's first genetic defect, but i do feel somewhat qualified having worked in genetics for 5 years. A little person in my life seemed to make a serious connection today grabbing toys. I'm not saying she's a child prodigy ready to sit down and play mozart but she likes to play with her toys dangling from the jungle gym boppy thingo.

Speaking of that, someone gave this boppy thing to us and it is the best toy ever. So whomever it was you must be a mommy and knew we needed it. She loves it and we do too so thank you whomever you are.

Anyway, the point is, shorty has also taken to cramming her fist into her mouth to pacify herself. (And have at it, i say since it's always right there at the end of her arm and i don't have to get out of bed to pop it back into her mouth). But i was noticing it is ALWAYS her lefty. And she goes for all her toys and to grab at faces and everything with her left hand. Oh brother. I think we absolutely have her austalian mother to thank for this situation. Luckily she won't be going to catholic school where she might get racked on the knuckles for being a lefty. And i guess i will be able to stand my daughter growing up to be a speedy little slapper in fast pitch softball.

I will certainly keep you all posted as this develops and i can assure you i will begin throwing balls at her face to test her dominance as soon as the weather warms up. Ha ha ha.

Day 3 at home and we are having a ball. Reading books, singing and playing.
