we had a house full today, everyone around to see the baby, of course. after my loving sister and future brother-in-law handed ruby off with a full diaper, i got to work like any good mother would. just as i touched her little stuff with a cold wipe, she took that as a cue to let her bladder fly. it was hilarious, i looked down to see a nice little stream of urine flowing down on my hand. i don't think i ever thought i would actually cup my hand and try to catch urine, but parents do weird things don't they? i guess that will teach me to put the clean diaper under her bum BEFORE using the wipey. oh well. this parent thing is the coolest shit. everyone should try it out.
unfortunately, my life is encompassed by little ruby at the moment. i am totally in love and i can hardly bare to let her out of my site. everyone talks about this kind of love, but how can you understand until it happens?
anyway, not much else to say. my parents are here now too. they are staying for the week. so now we have two sets of adoring grandparents competing for ruby's attention. suffice it to say this little girl is never short a pair of hands to give her a cuddle.
in my dreams at night, i am working on a special transport device so i can bring a few special people here to meet ruby. i had no idea how sad i would be for people missing out on knowing this little person. i want ruby to meet all of her godmoms for one thing. two of them are in the uk and one is in australia. so i would warp them over in a jiffy. i would save her other godmom the trouble of the 4 hour drive too. ah well. i'm speaking the rubbish of a sleep-deprived first time mommy. a transport device would be cool though, don't you reckon?

what a touching moment that must have been, a real humbling experience. I'm sure every parent out there has been peed on a time or two. Looking forward to that - although Paul already found the peepee teepee, if we should have a boy.
what's a good time to call over to the house - I don't want to disturb baby sleep time or momma sleep time?
