australian in-laws plus snow

so the first real winter storm hit today. luckily the electric starter worked on the snowblower, so i used that a bit today. it was still snowing pretty hard, so i only did around the garage door. now there are 5 or 6 inches waiting outside for me for tomorrow. a nice layer of freezing rain has fallen on top as well. it should be fun hacking through it. oh well. the good thing is the snow has stopped and i'm holding out hope that Mn-DOT will have the highways all squared away by the time we need to be driving.

why am i worried about it? the wrinklies arrive tomorrow about supper time. no one needs to be driving up to minneapolis in crap weather. so, fingers crossed. and also, lets hope their flight from london is much more pleasant than the rest of their trip has been up to now. so excited to get them home and introduce them to the snow. this will be their first proper meeting of the frozen precipitation. i'll be sure to take and post photos.

on the baby front, nothing to report as of yet. so that is good. just have to get her parents here safe, then the baby can come out any time he or she is ready.

hope everyone has had a nice weekend. i had to go in to work and i wasn't the biggest fan. but it was nice and quiet and i got lots done.

peace out!

p.s. sorry that i missed posting yesterday, clarissa. but you were too pissed at piccadilly circus to read anything anyway!!!

Hey I feel your pain with the snow and freezing rain crap! I had the pleasure of removing (or attempting anyway) it from my car this morning before heading into work again. I'm definately not enjoying allowing at least 15 min to clean the car off in my morning routine. At least they had the roads pretty well cleaned up. I was a bit worried the plows wouldn't be out past midnight (heaven forbid they pay the drivers to be out on a Sunday) but they were/are out today too...yay! Well, my fingers are crossed for the in-laws coming in today...hopefully they arrive safely and the roads are good for you driving! Talk soon! xoxo LBM

OK you have me on that one babycakes! But I think it was the fresh air and not the G&T that was the problem, either that or Em and Claire are a bad influence!
