People who make me smile

so, sometimes you are having a cranky bout with your spouse or a bad trot or something. then someone comes along, someone who is a complete surprise, someone who you never thought you would meet or had entertained the thought of inviting into your own little world. but somehow, the universe shifts... and in pops clarissa.

clare works with leeser but not directly, well semi-directly. i'm sure i'll get this all wrong, but leeser works in clinical trials and clare works for a company who is trying to run a clinical trial with lisa. so, they met. there was a long intervention to find out if clare was in fact a lady of our persuasion and after what seemed like an eternity we found out she is. she's a cute little english lesbo. after some chatting and prying we even found out about her lovely wife, nic. strangely enough they came to the US to get married in vegas last year. one might say 'small world' here, but it might be more accurate to say clare and nic have a small world. those two are running all over the planet it seems. for example, they are hopping over to ireland this weekend for a hen's night. yeesh. anyway, despite the fact that clare-n-nic probably are above and beyond our socio-economic status they are the kind of witty engaging people everyone wants living down the block. you know, the ones you call to sit around a fire in your backyard, the ones who come to every party you throw, every birthday celebration. you can stop by with beers on an afternoon after work because the sun feels warm and the beer is cold. those kind of friends.

unfortunately, these two birds are shacked up somewhere in the UK. what a huge blessing to find them in this world and what a huge bummer that we are in the midwest and they are thousands of miles away. so i'm introducing everyone to nic and clare, our friends from the UK. nic is on the left, clare is on the right. so when i'm telling a story about a pom lesbo, it's going to be one of these two. now you all know.

so, clarissa and nic.... the next ticket and plane ride really should be to minnesota to meet the bubby, shouldn't it? love you girls!!!
