so, friday we grilled and hung out in the backyard. josh had never played ladder (polish) golf so he got his first taste of that. the weather was so nice, it was hard to go inside after the sun went down and it cooled off.
saturday we got up and went to the farmer's market and got fresh strawberries to have with strawberry shortcake. then the work began. leeser was the taskmaster deciding we needed to spend a few hours out in the yard. i don't deny that it needed to be done, but i was the least happy one about going out there and getting started. luckily josh and laura were happy (?) to lend a hand. so we spend a good part of the day tilling, trimming, weeding, hauling, leveling, transplanting and mulching. i'm sure i must have bitched and moaned about it last year when we mulched the front yard. anyway, the back corner of the yard is looking nice and we are just patiently waiting for the grass to grow in. it was really nice to have the extra hands and the weather was sunny and somewhat mood-enhancing so that was good.
that evening we hit the honkers baseball game. we dragged up the bikes from the basement, aired up the tires and rolled over to the game. again, the weather was so nice! we met up with a bunch of friends and there was beer and nice weather and baseball, what else could anyone want?
once the traveler hit the road, leeser took me out to oronoco to hang out with jen-jen and brad on lake zumbro. it was a bummer she couldn't stay because she was on call and her work phone didn't work out there. anyway, it was nice to hang out on the lake and do a little fishing.
that's about all i know. i hope everyone had a chance to get out and enjoy the weather. and thanks again to josh and laura for making the drive and all the help you gave us in the yard!!
