check out me and my kangaroo buddy. we went to the australia zoo (aka the steve irwin zoo) today. it was a lot of fun. we saw the croc show, elephants, wombats, all kinds of tropical birds, koalas and of course kangaroos. my only complaint was that all the little kids are on vacation, so there were tons of them runnin' around everywhere. but we still had fun and the weather was great again.
we also got up early and went up to the markets today too. that was fun until it got too busy. we were able to find a bunch of pressies for people so that is always good. oh, and speaking of ratbag kids, a bunch of them were playing in a vacant pavillion and someone threw a half brick as we were walking by. i tried to get out of the way, but it drilled me right in the knee and thigh. of course, it was my reconstructed knee. let's just say that there was some yelling and calling them little shits. i was not happy. i'm still not very happy, as it appears to have broken a blood vessel and caused a deep tissue bruise in my quad. those always take a long time to heal. so, now i think all kids are brats. i'm sure i'll get over it some time, but where are these kids' parents? sheesh.
we have to be to the airport tomorrow by 5am to catch a 6am flight up to mackay. we'll spend 4 days up there with mick, tanya and the boys. there is some beaching planned and some rainforest hiking. should be fun.
