music review

i feel like the male folk scene is exploding with amazing new artists. really, really good stuff. i'm not sure if i hadn't been as in tune to it in the past or i've just been blessed with itunes. i can sit for hours and look up folk stuff, listen to samples and read reviews and recommendations. this is how i found out about joe purdy.

his music is so mellow, charming, soothing... it whisks you off to a black and white photo of something that is pleasing to you. something that you remember or a snapshot you thought you had forgotten. there are city streets, unkept hairstyles, some piano, but not too much, good coffee or tea, an ashtray if you need it......
