heard, saw, did

have been a bit busy this week it seems. things to do every night, but mostly fun things, good things, things that i enjoy even though they took some time away from the little doggies.

went to listen to a very enjoyably folk, jazz singer at the art center on thursday evening. it was accidental really that i checked the webpage to see what was coming up on wednesday. even luckier still that tickets were available for the show thursday night. even a bit more luck on top of that because a guy from lisa's work agreed to switch shifts with her so that she could go. it turned out to be a very nice evening. have a listen on rachael's website if you are interested. she's a midwestern girl, born and raised in michigan. she has a very true, clear voice and light, easy-going stage presence. if you have the chance to see her live, it wouldn't be time wasted.

then friday went to go see the new buzz movie, brokeback mountain. i don't know if i was so excited because of the talk about the film, or because we haven't been out on a date in so long. either way, it was very enjoyable. i wasn't disappointed at all. the scenery was amazing, and it made me want to head out to a mountain and do some camping. all the "gay-ness" and hoopla about ennis and jack is really secondary. it's a sad, tormented love story. you should see it if you have even the slightest curiousity. a very tasteful film, i thought.

now today, one of my favorite kind of days. we went to bed last night watching the australian open and could actually sleep in today. holy crap! haven't done that in ages. woke up to some breakfast in bed and a movie. unfortunately, leeser had to rush off to work. but, the sun is shining and i am enjoying a cup of coffee and a day ahead of me with nothing planned. i'll see what i can get done or not get done. either way.
